Let your agent read and write your database safely.
Basevolt runs an MCP server on your machine, so Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex can read your schema and configure the panel you work in — while your credentials and data never leave localhost.
Works with the agents you already use
Why this is safe enough to point at real data
An agent with database access is a serious thing. Four properties make it defensible.
Local transport, local credentials
The MCP server runs inside Basevolt on your machine. Your connection strings and data never pass through a Basevolt server, because there is no Basevolt server in the path.
The app you connect holds the keys
Your agent talks to your local app; the app talks to your database. Revoke access by closing Basevolt or disconnecting the base — nothing to revoke in a cloud console.
Read the schema, then change the panel
Agents can inspect tables and relations and configure fields, views, dashboards, and webhooks on your behalf. They configure how Basevolt displays your data; they do not silently alter your schema.
Postgres, MySQL, SQLite, D1
One MCP server covers every connection you have added, across projects. Point the agent at a base and it works on that one.
Connecting takes one step
- 1
Download Basevolt, connect the database you want the agent to see, and open MCP settings to enable the server.
- 2
Register Basevolt as an MCP server in your agent — the app shows you the exact command for Claude Code, Cursor, and other clients.
- 3
Ask the agent to configure a base. It reads the schema and sets field types, relations, and views on that base.
MCP support is included in every plan, including the free Hobby plan. A built-in one-click setup is also available if you would rather not connect an agent.
An agent that can operate the app it built.
Connect once. From then on, the same agent that wrote the code can also configure the screens you use to run it.
