Claude Code builds the app. You operate it in Basevolt.
One MCP server, no API key juggling. Claude reads your schema and configures the panel; you get grid, kanban, gallery, and dashboard views on top of the database you already have.
If you build with Claude Code, the last thing you want to do afterwards is hand-write CRUD screens for orders, users, and content. Basevolt exposes your databases to Claude over MCP, locally, so the same agent that built the app can also set up the place you operate it from.
Claude already knows the schema
Because it wrote the migrations, Claude knows which column is a status, which one points at a customer, and which ones are money. Over MCP it can apply that knowledge to the panel instead of you clicking through settings.
It configures the panel, not your database
Field types, display formats, relations, views, and dashboards are Basevolt-side settings. Your schema stays exactly as Claude left it.
You stop living in psql
The daily loop — check what came in, move a record to shipped, look at yesterday — happens in a board or a queue, not in a SQL prompt.
No cloud in the middle
The MCP server runs inside the Basevolt app on your machine. Credentials stay local, and there is no third-party server holding your connection string.
Setting it up
- 1
Download Basevolt and connect the database Claude just migrated.
- 2
Open the MCP settings in Basevolt and enable the server.
- 3
Add the server to Claude Code as an MCP server, then ask it to set up the panel for a table.
Claude Code is a third-party product and is not affiliated with Basevolt. MCP support is part of every plan, including the free Hobby plan.
